Born at Midnight (Shadow Falls, #1)Born at Midnight by C.C. Hunter
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Born at Midnight was a great book! Kylie is going through some problems. Her parents are getting a divorce, her boyfriend just dumped her, her grandmother died, and to top it all off she got busted at a party with drugs and alcohol. Even though she was clean her parents decide to send her off to a camp for juvenille delinquents. Needless to say Kyle isn't to happy about spending her summer a camp full of misfits. The moment she gets on the bus, Kyle knows there's something different about these kids. From the boy with the color-changing eyes, to the goth girl with the toad and the extremley pale girl with the dark black sunglasses. Somethings not right here and Kylie is pretty there's no way she should be grouped into the same category as them; except maybe sometimes she sees ghosts...

This book was so full of suprises I don't even know where to begin. Kylie is a fun character. She's strong and determined, and maybe a little stubborn about her "special abilities." Then there's her unique friends, Della the vampire, Miranda the witch, Derek the half fae, and Lucas the werewolf. I loved both Derek and Lucas but I am really pulling for Lucas!

The ending was awesome! It's not a big cliffhanger but it definitely left me desperate for the next book!
