Captivated (Affliction, #1)Captivated by Deb Apodaca
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Captivated is the story of Mindy and Dean. They were childhood friends until Dean's parents are murdered and he turns his back on everyone. Now, a few years later Mindy is happy with her life and her best friends. Everything is fine until strange things start happening and they seem to involve Dean. With Dean back in the picture Mindy is having a hard time controlling her feelings.
This book was amazing! It was a great story. I didn't figure out what was going on with Dean until we are told. The tension between Dean and Mindy is exciting. There is a HUGE cliffhanger at the end of this book!! I need to read the next one now!!

I've graciously been provided with a copy of Shadowed Souls by the author Allison Aileen Masters. As soon as I'm finished I will post my review!
Touch of Power (Healer, #1)Touch of Power by Maria V. Snyder
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Laying hands upon the injured and dying, Avry of Kazan absorbs their wounds and diseases into herself. But rather than being honored for her skills, she is hunted. Healers like Avry are accused of spreading the plague that has decimated the Fifteen Realms, leaving the survivors in a state of chaos.
Stressed and tired from hiding, Avry is abducted by a band of rogues who, shockingly, value her gift above the golden bounty offered for her capture. Their leader, an enigmatic captor-protector with powers of his own, is unequivocal in his demands: Avry must heal a plague-stricken prince—leader of a campaign against her people. As they traverse the daunting Nine Mountains, beset by mercenaries and magical dangers, Avry must decide who is worth healing and what is worth dying for. Because the price of peace may well be her life...

Maria V. Snyder is one of my favorite authors, and she does not disappoint with Touch of Power! This book is awesome. The characters are great, the story is entertaining, and there is enough going on that you won't want to put this book down. I love the banter between Avry and Kerrick and I can't wait for the next book!

Anew (The Archers of Avalon, #1)Anew by Chelsea Fine
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Anew was amazing! The story, the characters, everything about this book was awesome. Scarlet wakes in a forest with no memory of who she is and why she's there. Two years later she meets Gabriel, the gorgeous guy whose voice reminds her of her past. This book was impossible to put down. I read it in one sitting, and I can't wait to read the next one!!!

ForbiddenForbidden by Syrie James
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

I received a copy of this book in a First Reads contest. The book was provided by the publisher.

First off, I have to admit that I am in love with this cover! It's awesome!

Claire is a sixteen year old who doesn't understand why her mother panics and packs them up every so often. She's been going to the Emerson Academy for 2 years, and hopes her mom doesn't get any notions to move again. She finally has good friends that she would hate to leave behind.
Unexpectedly Claire starts getting visions of the future. She has no clue what is going on. That same day she meets the gorgeous, new Scottish student Alec. Alec is surprised by his attraction to Claire. It’s the first time he’s ever felt that way in the 100+ years he’s been alive. When Alec finds out the truth about Claire he realizes their relationship is forbidden.
This book was great because it was so easy to connect with Claire. She doesn’t attempt to hide her problems because she is embarrassed or worried about being a freak. The first thing she does when she starts having visions is tell her friends. Alec is great because he’s not perfect. The author’s writing style makes it hard to put this book down!! The story is entertaining and I can’t wait for the next book! Forbidden was fantastic!

Isle of Night (The Watchers, #1)Isle of Night by Veronica Wolff
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I received an ARC of Isle of Night through a Goodreads First Reads Giveaway.

Isle of Night is a unique, fast-paced, exciting book that I could not put down! The protagonist Drew is down-to-earth and easy to relate to. She’s just an average girl, unless you count her IQ which is above average, who is put in an unimaginable situation. Her life changes when she meets the gorgeous, charming Ronan and decides to follow him to what she believes will be a better life. Of course she never imagined she would be fighting for her life against other girls for the coveted title of Watcher. Watchers are the eyes and ears of Vampires and the only way to become a Watcher is to fight for it. I was enthralled with this book! It’s well written, with an easy to read dialogue that will keep you interested until the very last sentence! I can’t wait to read what's next in this series!

Pride's Run Pride's Run by Cat Kalen
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Pride's Run is outstanding! It's not like anything I've read lately, and it is definitely not your average werewolf book. I was hooked from the first chapter. Which I have to say is probably the best first chapter ever! Cat Kalen created an extraordinary setting, and awesome characters. I can't wait to start the next book!
Pride is a werewolf. She's been imprisoned by her master and only let out to complete his tasks; which usually involves killing his enemies. When Pride is sent after her next mark, Logan, everything changes. Pride finds herself on the run for her life with Logan. This is when the story really gets interesting!
